Product Details
The Crown GLT-40F is a gas-fired, self-contained steam kettle featuring a double-wall interior that forms a steam jacket around the entire kettle. The jacket is sealed with factory-distilled water for optimal steam efficiency. The interior is made from type 316 stainless steel, specifically designed for high-acid content cooking, while the fully insulated exterior ensures excellent heat retention. The hemispherical kettle bottom ensures superior heat circulation, providing even cooking results.
The recessed control panel is conveniently located on the front-right side of the unit, offering full visibility and ease of use. Standard controls include a direct immersion thermostat for operation within a temperature range of 165°F to 275°F (74°C to 135°C) at 50 psi, along with a water sight glass, cooking light, pressure gauge, and electronic ignition with an ignition indicator light.
For safety, the GLT-40F is equipped with a low water shut-off with an indicator light, a pressure switch, pressure relief valve, and a 100% safety gas shut-off valve, ensuring reliable operation.
The kettle pivots on trunnions connected to the tilt mechanism and control consoles, allowing the kettle to tilt past 90° for complete emptying. The drip-proof stainless steel-clad consoles are supported by all-welded, 1-5/8” (41 mm) diameter stainless steel legs with flanged feet, securely mounting the unit to the floor.
